Mercy Medical Center in Merced was a ground-up construction project that officially opened in 2010.  Systems Source was selected to design and procure furnishings for Phases I & II comprising a total of 270,000 square feet across two buildings. This project commenced during a very challenging economic point in history, necessitating Systems Source to establish a creative cost savings procurement strategy. Furniture was pre-ordered 12 months ahead of move-in, providing a substantial cost savings to Mercy Medical Center and in some instances preventing many of our manufacturing partners from closing their businesses. Also crucial to the success of this project, Systems Source worked with our local install partner to support the hospital for initial furniture placement, as well as future installations.

At its completion we provided furniture for 196 patient rooms, OR rooms, waiting areas, family rooms, children’s playroom, chapel, indoor and outdoor cafe, lobby and administrative and executive offices. Included in this extraordinary project was a beautiful, handmade stained-glass window imported from Germany. Understanding Healthcare Compliance Regulations is essential on healthcare projects, and as a dealer partner Systems Source has a well-established team with a superior knowledge level to address such issues like wellness-specific furniture, flame retardancy, cleanability, and durability of finishes, and procuring products for all levels of patient mobility.
